Pragati Mahila Utpadak Gath, Dhabon is a Self Help Group based in Dhabon Village in the Dahanu taluka in Palghar district of Maharashtra. They are a group of women from the Katkari Comminity which has been classified as Primitive Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) by the Government of India.

They have been trained by us on entrepreneurship skills and their project for manufacturing Sanitary Pads has been funded by the Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP), Dahanu and Manav Vikas Department of the Government of Maharashtra.

Today, these women have started manufacturing the sanitary pads and selling them in the local market under the brand name “Pragati”…. We believe that in the long run, this initiative will help in preventing their migration to the cities….
