The Dahanu-Gholvad belt in the Palghar district is famous for the fruit also known as sapota and is the only place in the world where it is grown all through the year. It is also one of Geographical Indicator (GI) tagged produce from Maharashtra.

Thats exactly the reason why we have set up four chiku processing centers so that there products can be made and sold across the country.

The four centers are run by women entrepreneurs (all tribal) from the following Self Help Groups
